My history with tattooing. It was in high school, around 1989, when I got my first professional tattoo by Kelly Miller in his second floor tattoo shop on Wells Ave. in Reno, NV. There were only 2 shops in town at that time. Not long after, I experimented with hand poked tattoos on myself as well as making my own tattoo “device” out of a pair of hair clippers. Having been raised around creative people I was already making art, but it was my involvement in skateboarding and the punk rock scene that influenced my interest in tattooing. But for the next decade, I would put thoughts of tattooing on hold while I traveled the country and pursued my lifelong interest in making art. By the early 2000’s I had acquired some actual tattoo equipment and my fascination with tattooing was rekindled. This combined with a decade of developing a personal artistic style led me to becoming a full time professional tattooer by the mid to late 2000’s. To this day, I am committed to a life spent creating.
My style of tattooing. When designing a tattoo, I take a folky-illustrative approach by simplifying the imagery. I then tattoo the design with traditional foundations and techniques: Black line work, shading, and a simple color palette. This is the style that attracted me to tattooing, it’s the way I learned to tattoo, and it’s the way I love to tattoo. Please take a look at the examples of my work below.
What I enjoy tattooing. I really enjoy tattooing animals, flowers, ships, skulls, folky landscapes, religious iconography, western themes, and the traditional classics. I also enjoy composing the elements of a tattoo as well as the composition of multiple tattoos on the body. Another thing that I love is the connection and conversation I have with my clients, that means a lot to me.

Custom Tattoos
I am happy to work with you on a custom design. Keep in mind that I tattoo with bold lines and simple shading/color. See examples of my work HERE. If I don’t feel like I can accomplish what you are asking for, then I will refer you to the best possible person.
I have lots of pre-drawn designs available in 2 categories, Flash and One-Off Designs.
“Flash,” in tattooing traditionally refers to a repeatable pre-drawn design that you pick off the wall or out of a book. One-Off designs are just that, meant for one use only.
