High Desert Friends is an ongoing series of paintings inspired by the flora and fauna of the high desert and Sierra Nevada. I approach these paintings with loose brushstrokes and unstructured backgrounds in vibrant yet muted colors inspired by the high desert landscape. I then use bold line-work akin to my tattoo work in order to define the main features.
